cotton ball dress

Materials

Aluminum foil

Paintbrush

Watercolor paint

Hot glue gun

Hot glue sticks

Cotton balls

step 1

Tear a 15 in. long sheet of aluminum foil from the box it came in.

step 2

Center the sheet of foil with the front of the doll, being careful not to wrinkle it too much.

step 3

Wrap the top half of the sheet around the bust, and stomach of the doll. Mold the skirt like a ball gown. Secure the back by folding the sides into each other.

step 4

Optional: add another layer of foil on top of the skirt to add dimension. Hot glue the layer on the base. Be sure not to block the “seam” on the back.

Cotton balls can be unraveled like toilet paper. Find the lip of the cotton strip and unroll it.

step 6

Hot glue the strip to the foil skirt. Dab your fingers quickly on the cotton to avoid burning your fingers.

step 7

Repeat until the skirt is covered. Leave the top uncovered.

step 8

You can use watercolors or spray paint to color the cotton on the dress.
