Materials
Newspaper
Paintbrush
Watercolor paint
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
step 1
Cut a strip of newspaper measuring
10 in. by 4 in.
step 2
Lift the doll’s arms up and fold the strip of paper in half hot-dog style. Wrap strip around bust.

step 3
Strip should be angled down to cover bust and fit under the armpit. Make sure ends of strip are even on both sides.
step 4
Cut strips in back evenly leaving a small gap in the center.
step 5
Poke the tip of your scissors through twice on each edge of the back sides. Make sure they aren’t too close to the edge or they will rip.

step 6
Weave a pipe cleaner through the holes in the back like a corset. Make sure the ends come out evenly on each side
step 7
step 8
Tie the pipe cleaner and trim the ends so they're not so long.

step 9
Wrap a pipe cleaner around the waist and twist it in the front
step 10
Cut a new piece of newspaper measuring 2 in. by 3 in.
step 11
Wrap paper around the pipe cleaner twisted at the waist. Glue one side to the pipe cleaner. Don’t glue anything to the twisted part of the pipe cleaner. That’s how you will remove the skirt.

step 12
Wrap the rest of the paper around the pipe cleaner and trim the extra pieces to create this skirt shape. Hot glue the paper to the pipe cleaner.
step 13
Tuck pipe cleaner into the skirt
to hide it.
step 14
From a new sheet of newspaper, start cutting long, thin, pointy strips of paper the same length as the dolls calf (toe to knee).

step 15
Hot glue the wide parts of the strips underneath the bottom of the skirt. Keep cutting and glueing until you're satisfied with how it looks.
step 15
Add color with water color paints.
